Carissa is extremely hard-working and driven, handling and litigating cases from inception to resolution at settlement, and every step in-between. She is motivated by integrity, and loves working in personal injury at Negretti & Associates as it allows her to have a direct impact in helping people overcome traumatic events in their lives. By explaining the legal process and guiding clients along the way, she strives to provide structure and comfort to clients, in addition to a fair resolution to their case.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Carissa grew up in Mountaintop, PA, and currently resides in Annapolis, MD as proud mom of her 3-year-old little boy. When Carissa isn’t busy helping clients get their life back, you can find her spending time with her loving husband and son, outdoors working out, running, competing in triathlons, playing field hockey or soccer, surfing, hiking, paddle-boarding, and coaching field hockey.
Carissa’s inner strength and resilience is obvious not only in her work life, but in her personal life as well. In fact, she went to the University of Maryland, College Park for her undergraduate degrees, and representing the Terps on the Field Hockey field as a two-time All-American. Following her college career, she then went on to join the ’03-’04 US Olympic Field Hockey Team. After competing in her sport at the international level, Carissa obtained her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. Through all of her experiences and accomplishments, she is most proud of her son and her role as mom.
Question: If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
Carissa would be a honey badger, she explains because they may look cute, but they are fearless, badass, tough animals, and people underestimate them. The saying is true, “don’t mess with the honey badger.”
Question: If you were a crayon color, what color would you be and why?
As a crayon, Carissa would be blue. She’s been told she has a great poker face; keeping cool, calm and collected, no matter the situation. Like the pacifying color of blue, she has the ability to calm people down.
Question: If a penguin were to walk through your door wearing a sombrero, what would be your first thought?
